Public nudity of any kind is illegal and insulting to the Aruban people. However, there are many very secluded small beaches along the northeast coast, some requiring a 4 wheel drive vehicle to reach, where you may be alone and do as you wish, subject to interruption at any time by 4-WD or horseback tours. There are no facilities of any kind nearby and the surf is extremly rough and dangerous for swimming. Topless sunbathing and swimming is not against the law, and tolerated on most beaches in the resort areas, but not on resort grounds! The "clothing optional / nude" beaches
Observed some topless at Malmok Beach I just stayed in Aruba Palm Beach area and don't recall any issues with thongs on the beach or poolside despite the "family" area. As for topless, I had read online somewhere that public nudity is not as accepted in Aruba as it is in other Caribbean islands. The recommendation was that it would probably be acceptable on more secluded beaches away from public areas. I guess you would have to check with the "authority" for your particular property's beach or just go with the caveat, "do as other's do"! If you see anyone going topless then you're probably okay. I would assume it would be frowned upon in "family" areas. Personally, I don't mind it! LaCabana has sporadically enforced a coverup rule, although there doesn't appear to be any problem with the bordering resorts on either side of their beachfront.
We've been to Aruba several trips and have stayed at the hotel so let us know when you're ready to go! Located right in the heart of downtown Oranjestad and across the street along the beach, the hotel is the largest in town and one of the largest on the island with a full range of services and amenities including well-appointed guest rooms, suites, restaurants, topless beaches, nightlife, spa treatments, and world-class gaming. But no nude beaches. The hotel contains guest rooms and suites spread over several parts of the property. You may or may not find it along the public beaches. Just be prepared to go with the flow and have fun.
Are there any truly nude beaches in Aruba? My hubby and I would to visit one. If not, any recommendations for some in other Caribbean islands? No nude beaches in Aruba. St Martin does have nude beaches. Orient Beach in St. Martin does have nude beach side. Yes Orient Beach in St. However when we were there, there wasn't much nudity.
